Yet again today i got a fake email from someone claiming to be paypal, saying i had made a payment to someone for $454.99 USD to a company named LWPELECTRONICS

Dont be fooled into believing the email, it will take you to the following url

http://informnational.com/~western/Secure/Account_Members/Restore_websrc/

go there and enter ANY USER AND PASS... you will see what it says, dont worry, it will let you in with anything, but DO NOT PUT YOUR REAL LOGIN DETAILS THERE

Also when you enter it asks you for your credit card to validate your identity, but even worse than that, enter any card number, and it will then ask you for all the rest of the details, and guess what, one of those details is your PIN NUMBER to your bank :td:

I have reported the matter to paypal and that website should be closed soon

thanks for reading this and if you do get one do not enter any details, dont worry you havent really made such a purchase

thanks

-phil

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

this is very simple, just send any e-mails that you do no think that come from paypal or ebay to [email protected] and they will send you an e-mail back stating if it is spoof or not.

Kaspersky AV Blocked a Trojan Script on that site...even when using FF....so not only fake login page but virus activities too! That's dangerous!

Well, it seems to have been reported before, when I visit it, FF has a warning that pops up and tells me it's a forgery, I think PayPal already knows about this but can't do anything about it.

Check this when you click on the "Why is your PIN required?"

From December 10th 2004 PayPal requires your Personal Identification Number. This is the latest security measure against: identity theft, credit card fraud and unauthorized account access. PayPal will verify it with your bank records for your own protection.

If you provide a wrong PIN your account will be suspended for unauthorized account access. Due our latest security improvements PayPal became a global leader in online payments.

"Due our latest security improvements PayPal became a global leader in online payments."

These scamming bastards cannot even get their grammar corrrect.

I wonder if anyone actually falls for this shit, the URL looks highly suspect to say the least. :|

That spoof page is pretty effective but the URL gives the game away.

As for idiots, they do say there's one born every second.

I had some twat spamming me earlier today saying that my loan application was successful and I could have $305,000 :-/

Just forward everything with full headers to [email protected] - it'll have instructions on how to get full headers, etc. If it's really bad, they'll send you an acutal response, and if you think you got phished, change your emails and pws and everything asap, and contact paypal.
