Paul Nicks just announced on X that he is taking an early retirement from GoDaddy. He will also step down as a board member at ICA. Paul will be missed, one of my favorite people in the business and the best at GoDaddy for my money along with Joe Styler and James Iles. Paul was […]

I don't know this person. Is he the boss of the company that monopolized and then stifled DAN, forcing users to use the garbage software Afternic?

It’s not disappointing to see Paul Nicks Retiring :xf.wink: GoDaddy after the direction the company has taken. When you go on Sherpa and say you’ll be more transparent about who the buyers are, then not follow through—when everyone else example saw.com atom.com manages to. Most buyers don’t care about anonymity; they buy a domain once in a blue moon and dont even know if sellers see info anyway. im the customer

Why are GoDaddy brokers pressuring domainers with offers that are a tiny fraction of the BIN price? What happened to the “sense of urgency,” the “impulse buy,” and the “take-it-or-leave-it” approach you previously promoted? None of that seems to matter anymore.

As a seller, I’d like to know whether my domain is being purchased by a major company like Apple or just a small-time buyer. Realtors earn 3% and bend over backwards for clients, yet GoDaddy seems focused on ultimatums—use our nameservers or pay 25%.

Honestly, I’m looking forward to change in the industry. If ChatGPT ends up acquiring Atom, that $201K might be the last easy money GoDaddy sees. Yes I meant 201k
