Hola new friends!

I started three or four years ago developing small websites. I'm not very good at it... but I've been getting better. I've recently become interested in domain names as investments. Maybe flipping, but also maybe keeping. I have been reading through the threads, but I think my situation is a little different since I don't plan on becoming a millionaire overnight.

I'm well aware that you don't make money overnight doing this, so no need for the "keep your day job" advice :) Especially considering I do have a little webmaster experience. HOWEVER... what is the first thing you recommend doing with a NEWLY registered domain name. Obvioulsy parking it with lame content may not be a great idea, however I don't have time to develop them the way they probably should be. I know that sometimes building a website, adding a little content and then letting it sit and mold can make it worth even less that a new website. (maybe I'm wrong... let me know)

So I'm not sure what to do with my new portfolio of names. Some were dropped and have been around for a while. Others are brand new, but very target and keyword specific (so I had buyers in mind when purchasing them...)

Also - I'm a huge loser and I have NO IDEA what "IMHO" stands for. Enlighten me?

IMHO = "In My Honest/Humble Opinion"

As far as what do to with your domains, it really depends. If you purchased a domain thinking PPC revenue, then either park it or develop it (especially if it is getting some traffic). If you purchased a domain based on the potential of an end-user sale or flip, go after potential end-users with emails, phone calls, etc or try to sell it here at NP.

Regardless, if you have no time to develop or sell a domain you might as well park it even if you don't make a dime because at least you will be able to track your traffic (or lack thereof).

a couple of tips...

park until you develop
learn a software program like Joomla and create some mini sites and monitorise them
download a Domain Name Portfolio Script and place the link in your signature.
Checkout mine "Domain Names For Sale" follow the link to download the script.

All the best

Cheers

Awesome... thanks guys! I have been trying to learn Joomla and honestly for how simple it SEEMS... I'm having trouble. It's frustrating trying to get it to do what you want, but I'm sure once I get it figured out it will be a piece of cake.

don't get domains just for getting them, research and have already a set idea on how to develop it, and then sell fast.

also a more specific advise could be given if we know your portfolio of domains.
