Ok dumb question maybe. Well just for the hell of it i did a search on google for a domain name that i own and am in the process of developing and it shows up as the first site on a google search .

How does that happen . It only has a "coming soon" page and no advertising at all. the domain is massivehost.com and i searched massivehost and it comes up. any reason for that . I know if someone was looking for a host they wouldnt type in massivehost or anything but it still struck me as a little odd

also i think they check if a domain name with a .com matches your search query

ok well the question was more how does it get indexed to begin with. I have never added it to google or anything .

I think it depends on the number of sites that link to you domain.

not sure how it got indexed but i would have to say it was linked or had something before.
