Padding in css only going so far. Please Help!

In my wordpress blog jigjot.com you will notice that there is a large space between the logo and the top of the page, and there is a small gap between the top post and the logo. I want the logo to between right in the middle of the two. I have adjusted the padding of the header page in my sites css file, however I have only been able to get the logo to go up as high as it already is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
