If a full domain name search in the overture suggestion tool such as "sometypo.com" or "anothertypo.org" gives a value of 25-40, is it worth anything as a typo?

Hmm, good thought.
But you should probably try to get a value over a few hundred anyway.

I'm not using those specific domains. I'm just wondering if when a domain in overture returns a value in the 30s or 40s if its good.

With the extension, you mean?
I would say, generally, that this number is too low for the domain to be considered "good" on its own, but would have to back this up with other research. Remember, Overture "search results" do not necessarily have a direct correlation with actual type-in's of the domain, in most cases IMHO.
Typo domains may have some value, but I wouldn't register it based solely on this information.
B-)
