Whats a good indicator in how many times something got searched to maybe get a domain for it?

For example if there was a search query that got searched '61444' in the month that they calculate and the .com of the query is available would it be worth getting or should you look for more searches?

There is no magic number and it all depends on the market and the domain itself. High OVT w/e results don't allows translate into high type-in traffic especially in the case of phrases, 3 word domains, domains with "online" or "internet" in them. More generally, you also need to look at the market the domain is in to determine it's value. So while high OVT is better than not, ceteris parabus, it's crucially important that you use it as one among many other tools.

I also bounce a name off of Google's Zeiglist. Since everyone is chiefly concerned about PR and google all around, why not go to the source?

if the .com version is available of a highly searched term found using the tool I'd recommend registering it
