I was wondering what is a good count for a search of a domain name on Overtures Keyword Selector Tool. E.G example.com

Are you talking about OVT with or without extension? Any domain with extension is "good" in terms of it's potential natural/organic typeins...the importance of w/o extension listings is primarily in terms of SEO. Thus, the actual number depends on the market you're developing for.

I searched for exampledomain.com and it said 16 searches were made for eampledomain.com in july.

I plan to register the domain and then park it.

I have hundreds of domains profitably registered using the Overture + .com method, however I have picked up my fair share of garbage too.

My ballmark figure for an Overture + Extension is minimum 25, but even at this level it can be unpredictable. I found one with 917 two months ago but this month the Ovt. is just 7.

The Overture figure is also an algorithim and not the exact amount of user searches, plus remember it excludes Google searches and direct URL type ins.

On stable traffic domains, I find the real traffic averages around 12 - 15 times the overture result.

To be on the safe side it may be worth checking the Overture result over a few months to confirm it is stable before rushing out to reg. but you risk the chance of somebody beating you to it.

That's why it's called the 'Domain Game'. :hehe:

Also don't forget that when using the overture tool results can be lisleading in regards to singular and plural, plus the order of words, if they contain a space - this is true even if the result contains the extension.

The most accurate results are when the result shows without a space between keywords. e.g. 'exampledomain com' as opposed to 'example domain com'
