Overture, how much to count?

Lately i see many of you using ovt points to appraise a domain. How many points are enough for a site that have two words to worth something?

High ovt for your exact keywords in your domain name is good. Means there are a lot of people searching for those keywords in Yahoo! It means with good seo and content you may get onto the first page of the serps and get clicks on your link. Alternatively, there might be a few of those people that will actually type in the full domain name. I like to see 10,000 or more but I've purchased domains with low xx (even none).

Be VERY careful using this as a sole basis of value, overture can stack several phrases together, reverse them, use the plural or single instead mistakenly or just report inaccurate information because of spam attacks. Always double check with google adwords tools and actual google search results with quotes.

I have names way over that which are complete busts in terms of PPC and google adwords showed me why. Nowadays I use adwords tools first for a more likely phrase, then I confirm rough results with overture for a 'presence' of searches rather than an exact term via overture.

I once found an available .com that I thought would be great. There was a celebrity named Andrea Something. That name had xxx,xxx OVT. Her website was AndreaSomething.com (the domain had nice OVT w/ext). The domain I registered was a typo. AndrewSomething.com. Even the typo term was showing 40,000 OVT.
So I rushed to register it as fast as possible thinking I had found a gem. Over the next 3 days it got absolutely 0 traffic. I'm still sort of scratching my head over that one, because everything seemed to be in order.

Just goes to show that you can't really count on OVT all the time.
