When you are about to reg a domain, and you check overture, is there a typical minimum overture you look for?

Is it different for .com and .net? What would you consider a decent overture for a reg and would you expect it to translate directly into traffic?

Interested to hear your thoughts.

It largely depends on the keyword. For instance, if it's 1 word or a simple 2 word phrase, I have names with <500 OVT that make $5 / month (.coms). However, I also have low OVT .net / .org names that have been SE indexed and get lots of traffic/clicks. But generally, I like a .com to have min. 4k + OVT w/o extension and .net or .org to have 25k+. Even then, however, lots of high ovt .nets won't get much traffic.
