@DanSanchez I just checked NameSilo and .org transfers are $10.79. Is there a coupon for the $6.99 transfers?

My mistake, I had just transferred a .US and I totally got the tlds mixed up.

It's official, I have too many domains.

Hostgator -$ 7.95, but I don't know it they are any good

1&1 - 99 cents, but I don't think they have a good rep here.

directnic - $8.99

Epic - $9.60

NameSilo - $10.79 - $9.79 with coupon.

Hope this helps. :xf.smile:

I wouldn't recommend any reseller use a registrar that is unfriendly to domainers such as 1&1

It is a Welcome Offer for NEW customers only and it is limited to 1 domain.

I am confused.

So do you recommend them or not?

Yes, 1and1 may be used to save your money... to transfer in and out...
To keep a portfolio there - No. Because their panel is not for domainers and renewals are very high.

p.s. Also when using 1and1 I strictly recommend to pay via PayPal only.

Do you mean to transfer in to save money for a year?

So you don't trust them with your credit card?

Do you have to sign an agreement to let them charge your PayPal account like some other registrars?

Their Reg and Transfer fees are equal (for all TLDs), that's why savings are HUGE.

It is not about trust...
It is for some cases if incorrect invoice was issued to you (sometimes it happens)... and via PayPal you can instanly cancel your payment agreement with 1and1 and then you can correct such invoice contacting their Billing dept... You can set the new PayPal agreement in 1and1's panel at any time.

+ via PayPal all payments are postponed... Regarding me - they usually charge me once per month.

Can you give some examples.

Are the transfer fees better than the deal for domainers at epic?

Example is already posted above...
$2.17 .PRO Reg/Transfer at 1and1...
$10 (for domainers) at Epik.

All other TLDs you can check on 1and1 site yourself...

Do they ask for ID's or anything like that when you open an account, or reg, or transfer a domain?

Only if your entered account details are suspicious.
They never asked me about anything.
