.Org or .Com

I have a domain niche idea. I want to purchase both .Org and .Com but since the domain name I intend to develop is dedicated to malware / spyware removal guides and sound better if is .Org my question is if I should use only .Org and do a redirect from .Com or vice versa ? The website

Which one would you choose?

StopMalware.Org

or

StopMalware.Com

The .org sounds better in this case, but only marginally.

It gives it that flavour of righteous indignation that you need to lead people on a crusade, something that the .com does not possess.

If you own both and a redirect, it is true that .ORG could give it a kind of "legitimacy", so to say - the commercial aspect in the background, so to say. Both would work, especially for malware / spyware removal guides, but I understand why you would choose .ORG - as long as you own the .COM and redirect, since a number of people will probably mistakenly type the name with .COM and you would lose traffic by not owning the .COM. In the end, I am not sure that it will make a big diference - rather a question of personal taste and identity one wants to give to the website.

Yeah, I'd go with the .com.

Although, a redirect sounds like a good idea too.

oh i just notice its an example. If its a non or low profit, holding hands type of site go .org. If its something actually like stop malware go .com. Goodluck

If you are going to be selling a product, then go with the .com. If you are going to just provide information, then the org may make more sense.

If you get the .org, I would also get the .com.

If you get the .com then I would not bother getting the .org.

One factor we cannot know is how good the domain is. If the domain is not so good (MalwareGetTheeBehindMe.com) it really doesn't make much difference.
