Hi every1 i was going to set up a community forweb hosting

but then i thought scrap it ill set a new and fresh one up so i though

how about a community for web entrepeneures

and i am trying to get a certain domain i am from the uk and the onei wantis taken in .com so is a .org a a good domain for it or is a .co.uk better

does a .co.uk domain cancel out the american audience?

is a .org a good domain to go with?

.co.uk would look more appealing to me
but indeed it will cancel some traffic

I like co.uk better then .org, you should stick with .co.uk because your from uk anyways, and I don't think co.uk domain would cancel out the american audience

As a rule, if your intended community image is worldwide with no strong local slant, then stick to a gTLD like .ORG. Best case is .COM looking at your 'web entrepreneurs' concept, but .ORG can be quite appropriately used as well.

If your community wants to have a strong local image, go for a ccTLD like .CO.UK.

A URL is both a navigation tool as well as an image you want to portray.

Sure it can ... afterall it's specific for the UK afterall! :gl:

I'd suggest using the broader ".ORG" in this example, IMHO.

I agree with Jeff^^

I have a domain thats great.. but its a .us and I wanted an internationally appealling site.

I stuck with a "not so good" .com instead for my project.
