Optimizing AdSense With Your Current Layout

Hey guys. I was just wondering if anyone knows any tips or advice on how to optimize Adsense...I really want to pull in more revenue than I currently am.

Do you find it better having Adsense blended in with your current layout, like how this forum does it on the top right? Or is it actually better to have ads stick out?

An answer on that, tips, advice, and links appreciated.

It differs for each site, some sites of mine, it has been better with very well blended ads, others If they stick out a bit they do better.

Best thing to do is run tests with the ads for 1-2 weeks trying different colors. Also If the medium and large rectangle ads fit in with your site try using them, they seem to do a little bit better than the basic banner ones as well.
