Oppose trademark?

I was wondering whether anyone knew anything about how to oppose a trademark, or whether it was worth doing it?

I have a relatively low value domain, that I had up for sale with a logo. A while back a company applied for a trademark, using pretty much the same logo to the one I had up and referring to the logo style in the trademark (so I strongly suspect they have seen the domain for sale).

They bought a variant of the domain name, a few months after I picked up mine, and are going through a trademark process for the word in question, now selling products online.

I have concerns about them possibly trying to take the domain name, and wondered if I should be doing anything to protect against this? They could have bought the domain name relatively cheaply if they had wanted it, so maybe they don't want it, but something tells me they may try and take it. I took the domain off of parking and put up a basic site, a while back, saying full site coming soon.

They are now in the objection period for the trademark going through. I vaguely remember reading here someone saying they had objected to trademarks in the past. I have never dealt with anything like this before, and don't know whether it is worthwhile or recommended to object, or how you do it.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Depends on what your "basic site" entails. You can only oppose trademark if you truly using the mark yourself.

I can't really claim that I do in all honesty. It's a basic ecommerce website, with a view to selling, but not in operation.

You have no chance of opposing the trademark then. However if you think they stole your logo, that is copyright infringement. Send them a DMCA and at least you have a paper trail.
