Opinion about Channel(number).com domains

Hello All,

I was watching TV last night, and I notice that the UK TV channel, Channel 5 have purchased the domain name 'Channel5.com' and moved from 'Five.tv' in a big overhaul they've had.

This got me thinking about 'Channel(number).com' names. Upon doing a search I realised that huge numbers of these domain are taken.

All of the 100 divisions below are taken:

channel100.com
channel200.com
channel300.com
channel400.com
channel500.com
channel600.com
channel700.com
channel800.com
channel900.com
channel1000.com
channel1200.com
channel1300.com
channel1500.com
channel1700.com
channel2000.com
channel3000.com
channel4000.com
channel5000.com
channel6000.com
channel7000.com
channel8000.com
channel9000.com
channel10000.com

Then a search from 0-500 reveals that only the following are available for registration:

CHANNEL205.COM
CHANNEL226.COM
CHANNEL437.COM
CHANNEL444.COM
CHANNEL456.COM
CHANNEL493.COM

When you start searching anything over 500 they are practically all available.

Are these worth the cash?

Then a search from 0-500 reveals that only the following are available for registration:

CHANNEL205.COM
CHANNEL226.COM
CHANNEL437.COM
CHANNEL444.COM
CHANNEL456.COM
CHANNEL493.COM

Wow!! In my opinion a waste of money but..... we are talking about domains, everything can happen

Well of course, channel5.com would be worth more than channel493.com. But if you can find an end user, it might be worth reg fee.
