One disadvantage of domain hacks

I've just tried to access dnpric.es to check on a keyword profitability. I'm on public WiFi, and the site has been blocked as offensive. I can only assume that they have looked at the "pric" part of the name, and decided that it is pornographic. It's quite annoying really, and it blocks travelling business people from using the service.

I've started this thread to alert domainers to the danger. :)

How come pric is related with pornography?

I am not sure if this is the domain hack causing the blocking or not.

I don't know, because I can't access the site. I saw the link in the trucks thread, and I thought it might be a useful service. The profitability refers to the sale of the domain name, and not the use of the traffic

I'm guessing, but I had trouble with my FoxyTalk.com name, because foxy is often linked with pornogrphy.

Correct, sometimes even my own domains that are parked at DomainAdvertising with PPC links are blocked at a certain public WiFi I have used at a U.S. fast food restaurant. Has something to do with that some of my domains are adult and have adult PPC links on them. Even though the particular domain I am checking at that moment is not adult, still for some reason the public WiFi system blocks it.

In my case, I think it has to do with a systemic blockage (lol, sounds like a heart attack coming, or constipation) of all websites associated with a PPC provider that allows adult content, or maybe it is because I do allow adult links on some of my sites, and the WiFi system somehow knows that.

I have managed to get names removed, but it's a bit laborious. I ought to make a list of the filtering sites, unless someone has already done this.

dnpric.es (afaik) is similar to namebio in that you can get data on past sales

As I recall, you may make the report right then and there when it is being blocked, there is a mechanism to complain that you believe the blockage is in error. But of course that would be just for that one URL.

I looked at the Google references, and it appears to be a respectable business services site. That's why I assumed it was the name that was the trigger.

Joe Public doesn't quite get them either. I do have a website with the word "fake" in the title and due to Fake News I cannot access it depending on where I am, cheers
