Changed the GoPC site around... need your honest opinions.

OLD GoPC site... www.gopc.cc

NEW GoPC site... www.gopc.com

From a PPC revenue standpoint, I think the old site has more potential but I really like the image and focus of the new site. Plus, the Forum is a cool new feature.

What do you think? And more importantly... WHY?

+REP Given for constructive critique

My opinion: as soon as I entered the first one, the first things I saw were two lines of adds and if there is something I hate about webdesigns, it's the way add make them look. Sorry, it's just to much. I understand the fact that some of us have to make some money with their websites, but... Anyway, point made!

The second design, sorry but this one also doesn't work for me. Did you a have professional webdesigner do this for you? I mean, the header and nav look kind of ok but left and right section look very off to me. And the back ground, seriously??!! Salmon??!!

If I hade to choose one, it would be the second one but it very far from a good design.

Don't know if this counts as "constructive critique" but then again, I don't care much for extra REP anyway! Good luck with your business!

Yep the new one is DEFINATELY better compared to the old one. Of course the new design could be improved..

The first layout had ads, which was very bad.. also it was just kind of messy and some pictures were a bit pixellated.. I like how the new design is much smoother and more colorful.

I would just add a mouseover to the buttons on your new layout...

Matt:

LOL... I've gotten a couple of comments about the Salmon color. The point was for it to STAND OUT... and it does. Kinda reaches out and grabs ya. LOL!!!

What do you mean by the sides looking "off"? As in, uneven? Also, what browser and resolution are you looking at the page in? I've noted that the GOOGLE Search bar does funny things in Internet Explorer that I have yet to figure out WHY.

Sadly, I did the work and I'm really only skilled enough to get myself in trouble I think. ;) Still alot to learn.

Thanks for the critque... +Rep left :)

JYM:

Mouse Over buttons... you mean ALT tags or actualy mousever buttons that change? I've used them before. I made ZOOMY mouseovers for www.pregrid.com. Note how they go from stationary to "speeding" when you run the cursor over them. In theme with the Racing nature of the site.

Is this what you mean? If so, in what way? Botton change? Color change? Maybe just a text size or color differnece?

Did you happen to visit the forum? Should I change that to better batch the site or is it par to leave any forum standard gray?

It's new, it's empty but there's a $500 off Notebook incentive for new members this week too, if you care to get a good deal on a Dell ;)

Thanks for the critque... +Rep left :)

I viewed both and i think the newer one is much nicer! the first one felt ugly and quite dull...when i entered the second one it was bursting with colours! good job.

From a PPC revenue standpoint, I think the new one has a better chance. Its design is nice, colors used are attractive and most importantly the ads are placed on the bottom of the page.

In the old design the ads are placed right on the top which in my opinion won't get the desired no. of clicks.

The new one is much better. I still think the links should have overlays on mouseover. Also, there are too many colors. The orange, grey, and blue is nice but your links are ranibow colored. The links need to be worked on.
