Steve Jobs final words were revealed a day ago to the public, only 6 words: Oh Wow, Oh Wow, Oh Wow.
Probably minutes after, ohwowohwowohwow.com is regged, along with all other top extensions. .me and .tv are still available if you want 'em.
At least grabbing this forward-thinking phrase is better than everyone who grabs the 'death' domains immediately after someone famous passes away. It infers that Jobs 'saw something beyond beautiful' in his final moments, and I love that possibility.

It will be interesting to see whether this becomes a huge catchphrase in society, due to that possible meaning... such are the ways new popular sayings enter immortality. This may be one of them. That's why so many domainers keep a keen eye out for forward-thinking phrases in addition to forward-thinking new items.

Don't know if it's strange or not, but now I wish I owned ohwowohwowohwow.com...

His sister (who reported the words) gave the impression it was a good/beautiful thing.
I'm guessing he had an enlightenment experience, right on the brink, as many people do, which makes it a beautiful death, all things considered

I've heard from a few people who have had this experience, including a close friend who had it shortly before her own passing, and this is what it sounds like with Jobs.

I hope so.

As for forward-thinking, many catchphrases have become famous, and the domain names subsequently become quite valuable. Like 'That's hot!' and 'Just sayin' and 'I have a dream' and countless others, whether last words or cool expressions or famous quotes.

A legacy is not only a specific contribution, it involves all of a person. Just like MLK's 'I have a dream' phrase is as much of his legacy as all the actions he did, Jobs legacy will include his actions and his statements... including his final one.

For me personally, the mere thought or suggestion of registering someone's alleged dying words just seems unethical and wrong. It seems a new low, even for domainers and domaining.

I can't imagine anyone, let alone any business, trying to market them as some cheeky catchphrase or product line in an attempt to reap some monetary reward or benefit. Classless, tasteless and downright morbid.

RIP Steve. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

I agree I wouldn't register them. However, iwow.com has existed way before this event. I wouldn't see an issue with someone starting a "oh wow foundation" as long as it was a good cause type of thing. I think it just depends on the context it is used.

I appreciate the words from his sister but the only people that achieve death are those who commit suicide. Steve spent great effort trying to save himself. Achievement does not come through avoidance.

The fact that his sister is an accomplished novelist, puts serious doubt as to whether this was the "verbatim" last words of the famous Steve Jobs.

Evenif it's true, scientists have shown that people in near death are experiencing hallucinations similar to a Motorola processor in its final seconds before shutting down.

Going back to the "Oh Wow" domain dot com....

It can be a brandable name. It's catchy. And modern. A few weeks, months, or years from now, I don't think people will be able to attach the "Oh Wow" brand to anything even remotely related to Steve Jobs. And besides, i don't think any unauthorized third party can market the Apple brand or Steve Jobs' image or likeness without getting into trouble with copyright infringement.

It's all in the mind.

Garbage domain with no real value. When's the last time anyone cared what someone's last words were if they're not some astounding revelation?

Can anyone say - without research - the last words of any other person in recent history?

This isn't "The gold is hidden in the clock" or "I see a thousand dancing unicorns", it's just a repeated phrase - probably though a sedated haze due to pain.

Pump me full of drugs, and I'll say "Wow", too.

I don't really have an opinion on the taste of registering it, since Jobs himself was a less than empathetic individual who probably wouldn't care if it happened to someone else.

I just think it's a useless domain.

LOL. Yeah, I always figured they were sugarcoating it with the tunnel and bright light stuff. Maybe death is like the scariest plummet on the scariest roller coaster in the universe, into the jaws of a giant shark... with stinky breath.

Ohwow.com has already been registered for many years. Brandable enough by itself, but repeating it 3 times doesn't work for me.

I imagine the experience of death ranges from outright horror and agony, right on up to bliss. To say it's all one or the other seems short-sighted. After 90+ years of life, a friend of our family just went to sleep and never woke up. Peaceful look on his face.
That's the way I'd like to go, I think. Either that, or torn apart by headhunters and jaguars while trying to rescue the most beautiful maiden in the world... as long as someone catches it on camera as proof it happened, so my next of kin can sell the movie rights, get rich, and maybe learn to actually like my memory then.
