I researched a keyword this afternoon which is taken in virtually every extension except .info and .us, even the .biz is taken.
Adwords keyword tool says, 10k-100k monthly searches, suggested bid $1.51 with low competition.
Estibot says $1200.

Should I buy it for regfee? If I buy it, what is the market like? Appreciate any suggestions or information about this extension.

Stay away from 1&1 as well as network solutions.

Namecheap or Dynadot are good places to reg.

I ended up regging it at GoDaddy - just to be consistent. I find it difficult to have too many registrars.
The name was tiresize dot info.
