I would suggest reading THIS!

However, unlike the word, "Kona", I'm not sure whether Britannica would be found in the dictionary. Nor do I have any idea whether Britannica has a generic use. I would also want to know whether it would be deemed a "famous" mark.

Even if you believe you have a legitimate use, take a look at the attached screen shot. This resulted in a series of emails with legal counsel for the Hertz rental car company. After explaining that my use of "hertz" was generic, descriptive, non-competing and non-infringing, I reluctantly (and promptly) transferred the domain HertzDonut.com to Hertz Inc. to resolve the matter.

Even if you are in the right (with plenty of emphasis on the word, "if"), who wants to do battle with an 800 lb. gorilla? Not me.

I do indeed plan on developing some of these names but quite honestly most will end up being sold. I usually keep and develop around 20% of the names I purchase....I wish I had more time to do more.
