In the news...

"...we also unveiled Microsoft's Digital Development Program(DDP). Our DDP program is a comprehensive platform that supports low- and middle-income countries who receive international development assistance. These countries, with 1.8 billion citizens, represent 23% of the worldโ€™s population. Participating countries will benefit from pro bono digital advisory, affordable cloud solutions, skilling, and capacity building tools to help governments modernize their infrastructure and provide critical services. Cape Verde, Angola, and Ethiopia are among the first countries leading the way in harnessing the potential of this program and to have a real impact towards a more equitable and inclusive digital economy."

After reviewing information on creative uses for the .cv domain extension (https://www.hello.cv/post/50-creative-uses-for-cv-domain), it appears this extension might be primarily targeted towards the HR and recruitment industry.

While I'm open to the potential of repurposed TLDs, current adoption within the industry seems limited. Existing examples (elv.cv redirecting to elv.tech, work.cv, bloom.cv, hello.cv, techjobs.cv) showcase functionality but lack widespread usage.

From a branding perspective, a .hr domain extension might offer better recognition and value for the target audience, despite potentially higher registration costs.

This doesn't preclude future success for .cv domains, but based on current market trends, personally it may be a premature investment for my current needs.

$2.99 at Dynadot, if you find a name that is worth a one-year try.

Thanks fam! After a decade of domain investing, I've learned to cover my bases. As I watch sales daily, it seems there is opportunity with single key words.

If I can get 100 great dictionary words for 2.99 each for a year, to me, it's a great investment. Especially with renewal at 12.99 and with other digital development in CV.

Definitely a gamble, but for 300 bucks, I like my odds on selling one or two top dictionary words.

I did the same with .VC. Only they cost me much more. I sold 1 for 4k at Afternic and it put me straight in the profit.

I guess we'll see. I think I got some great names.

I love having dictionary names like motion, excite, boutique, etc.

Interestingly, my biggest single domain sale of this year (30k) was a gTLD domain and to this day has not been used at all.

Thanks for sharing your experience @Silentptnr . VC is a different animal and adoption grows at a constant rate: I have sold a dozen or so myself. On the flipside, the availability of high-quality, brandable names within this niche is diminishing.

Of course for a seasoned pro like yourself it is way easier to make the batch profitable since you know what to look for. However, for newcomers, it's essential to be aware of the challenges and potential drawbacks. Not all .cv domains are created equal, and careful evaluation is necessary to maximize returns. Good luck with this endeavor and keep us posted!

Picked up developer. May use it for myself or sell it, not sure.

Good luck to all!

Just noticed a .at and a .to each sold for 5 figures on today's NB sales report. Give .CV a bit of time. :)

If Microsoft can invest millions in Cape Verde, I think my little 300 is a fair bet on top keywords.
