Yes, they are expensive to sit on waiting for a buyer that may never come.
Those sweet keywords are sometimes just too irresistible though!
The key for me is putting up mini-sites that dont take much time but pay better then reg fee.

Just got Audiobook.cc probably no time for a site until after xmas.

Too bad DOWNFORCE doesn't currently work at TDNAM,
let me know if anyone finds a tdnam coupon for cc.

i love the .cc extension when it's used with something that makes sense.

cc can stand for creative commons, community college, community center, chat community, call center, call cellphone, credit card, credit check, carbon copy, Craigs company, christian church, catholic church, Captain Crunch, etc..

For any domainer to say this extension sucks, their clearly out of their mind.
CC can stand for so many things. Use that to your benefit if you plan to develop a name on .cc
There is also "country club". Any city with good weather can be used exceptionally well with CC.

CC also stands for cubic centimeters, cold cash, cash cow, concerned citzen, christian coalition, city co-op, city corporation, cab confessions. So many words start with C. lol

but most of the time when I think of CC i think of the copyright symbol.

Yes, lots of creative ways to use .cc ... cooks corner, crafts corner, collecting corner, cash and carry, city channel...I also do that with my .ws sites.

Nice name, any plans for it?
Aside from Zebra animal uses it's a versatile brandable.

Haven't decided yet what I'll do with it, but I like how it's versatile. I'm just looking around right now at some of the zebra based domains to see what their doing.

I think I might try sending emails to one of the many Zebra companies out there who might be interested in a shorter domain name. I found one at www.zebracc dot net, but I'll wait 60 days to send messages off.

GoDaddy allows free push to any other GoDaddy account anytime after the registration. If this is your concern.

Under "available domain names" there is a good thread about available .cc domains. There are some good keywords available and that is a good thread to look at if anyone is interested in investing in .cc.

anyone have any luck selling .cc name's?

Has anyone had any luck selling .cc name's to end users?
I don't hear much about .cc's selling. DnJournal rarely lists any..

I've sold two, but they were both high volume keyword domains, one was a insurance keyword and the other was a medical keyword. Aside from that I haven't had any luck with .cc.

The market seems to have dried up for the most part. Sap.cc went for $10 on godaddy today. No one even bothered to bid on cursor.cc

I sold o2.cc for $850, in 2005, at Afternic.com (made DNjournal!) , and 1m.cc at Sedo, for $425, on 04/25/08.

You are right, good .cc sales are seldom. I couldn't sell Sense.cc for even $10, I think it went for $5 recently. I liked it, and thought it was worth at least a low $xxx. Wrong. When you think you have a word that is a winner, think again. Ok, it would probably be worth lots, if it was a .com, or a .net. As a .cc, who knows. Of course words like poker, games, business, would all be winners as a .cc , but you won't find those. Even the ones like LL.cc, CL.cc, Lc.cc doens't guarantee you will be able to sell it for even a low $XXX.
Good luck.

Frank
