I've got an e-mail today saying:

Hello!

I have a request from my buyer for purchasing xxxxxxxxxx.com

My client has six-figure budget for 60-80 domains. He invests in domains with good potential almost every month.

Please email me your desired price.

How can we transfer money to you (escrow, wire transfer or check)?

I provide brokerage services for VIP domain buyers. If you have more domains for sale please email me the list with prices.

Regards,

His email address resolves to an english domain registrar.

Could this e-mail be fake? I've read that someone is sending emails wanting appraisals of domains, before they buy it, and it is fake.

Def fake. I had the same email today.

It came through on a domain I have had a couple of legit offers on before, and has had a recent spike of views on Sedo.

Looks good to me.
Domain buyers like to spam out like this in hopes of getting domains they may want.
Just like domainers spam out in hopes of selling domains they have.

As soon as they say "60-80 domains"....you know its a scam

100% scam. Yep, when they tell you the big numbers of domains they want to buy, ask you how you want paid, just like that with no negotiation, or prior contact, etc etc, absolutely a scam.

Yeah, likewise no real buyer ever brags about how much money they have, buyers normally act like they have nothing and want the domain as cheap as possible.

Disregard the above- too much bacon clouds judgement.
