Hey All-

I haven't been here for sometime.

Last time I checked, I had something like $20 USD of NP$ in my account but I cannot seem to find it anywhere?

Did something change (i.e. NamePros ownership change?) during past 6 months?

You have 3,075 NamePoints or np$ in your account. NamePros is trying to deemphasizes np$ so you have to go in your profile to find the amount. There isn't an official 'nps are worth this amount'. Instead they are worth what you can trade them for. If you trade them for cash, then the less you ask for them the higher the chance they will sell. Np did change ownership soon to be two years ago

If you had exchanged your NP$ for bitcoin a couple of years ago, I think you'd be sitting on quite a sum right now. Instead of the $xx you have now... you would've had $xx,xxx.

I think South Africans and Zimbabweans had, and still have, the most to benefit from the NP$. The ZAR has lost, and is still losing ground to the NP$. Isn't that interesting?! :$:

Talking of Bitcoins the folowing happy story came out today:

Bitcoin investor who forgot he bought £17 of the currency checks four years later to find it is worth £551,000

Nothing compares to the hiper devalued Zimbabwe currency (out of circulation for 4 years now) They issued 100 Trillion Zimbabwe dollar notes which at the time were worth about $25

E-Gold, Stormpay, and several bullion exchangers have been shut down/liquidated by the U.S. government. A few of the bitcoin "banks" have also been under serious investigation more recently. You have to be very careful where you put your $$$, if you want to get it back.

guys, the goverment or anyone for that matter can not confiscate bitcoin unless you give up your private key.

Yes you are in a way correct. It is more like having a vault that you can not open, even if you are the US goverment. They are not able to use them, they do not have access, basicly if the SR owner told someone his private key or was able to get on the internet he -could- send them to an address that the goverment does not control

"A reported 600,000 BTC belonging to Ulbricht is in the FBI’s hands. But they can’t access the bitcoin wallet because it is encrypted. This supposedly is separate from the 26,000 BTC that was left in an escrow account, which was being used to exchange money between the marketplace’s users and dealers."

True, just like in Cyprus....
