What are the benefits/disadvantages of becoming a reseller vesus parking domains? The significantly discounted registration cost seems appealing.

Many will say enom reseller i guess. But the difference between a reseller and parking domain is that for a reseller you do not develop your domain to sell them. But for parking domain (if you want to earn $$), you are better off developing them and park them in sedo etc. Of course, you can park just the domains themselves but that will very less likely bring you any revenue. Domain reseller can be a fast and easy $$ but parking domains will give you $$ in a long term. Both have their pros and cons.

I don't think that's what was meant. I would think any domain could be parked.

Thank you for the reply MissFlora, my follow up questions is... Is it possible to both develop and park a site? I thought you could only do one or the other?

Well that last question seems a little odd - for if you chose to develop a domain you are therefore implying that you'll have an active website?? In order to have a domain parked in the regular sense of the word, you url forward all hits to a parking page, which for all intensive purposes is a 'developed site'. ??? One or the other, both is impossible...!

You can, as i do quite regularly, have a domain pointing all url hits lets say to another site of your own (that you want the traffic on) WHILST STILL having a parked page for that domain at sedo e.g. The only difference being, any type in traffic wouldnt go there and the only way people would know its for sale is through surfing sedo's site

That was exactly my point. However a previous reply seemed to mention that you could do both.

I think there is quite the business opportunity to provide something in between a boiler plate parked page like Sedo and a fully developed site. Parked pages are useless but for an amateur, fully developing a site and working directly with advertisers takes too much time and know-how. Adsense is probably the best in-between solution but they recently turned me down. If you ever hear of anything like this, let me know. Thanks.

Well thats easy, simply develop a single site loaded with affiliates and ppc adverts. Include a search engine and have at the top 'site is for sale'.

Then url forward all your sites to there. Awstats will tell you what site gives you the most traffic and so you can price your domains appropriately.
