A quick C&D letter from the New York Association of Realtors if those sites are ever launched by a non-realtor. Realtors is a TM name owned by the National Association of Realtors. They will defend their TM and are very protective of it

Appraisal - $0 for non-realtors. If you are a realtor, then worth $200-$300.

Yes they are trademarked names,

but check and you will seee there are thousands of realtor names that are still not taken away.

some sell, some dont,

not worth the hassle if you ask me.

They will not go after every undeveloped site, but if a mini-site is launched on there - eventually they will find you.

Thanks guys - Not being based in the US - I wasnt aware of this.

I shall look into this in more detail.

Even Im using this as a database as apposed too trying to act as a Realtor which Im not would they not approve this?

Should I drop them an email and request use of there TM for this purpose?

Or hold the site and dont park or develop it and have a quick flip for future.

the word 'realtor' is a trademark by the NAR, they protect it energetically. I went through this about 3 years ago when I unknowingly regged a realtor name myself :) It's a common mistake because it seems like the word realtor is generic... but it isn't, it's TM'd.
That's why there are a lot of great keyword + realtor names still left to reg.

You can take your chances of course. But with the TM, and these being dot.info's I'd have to say RF for value. Sorry about that one; otherwise, developed, they might give you a little traffic income. What are your plans for them? Gonna take the chance?

*FYI, when I found out my hand-regged realtor name was TM'd, I contacted the NAR legal dept directly thru email and told them the situation, apologized that I hadn't known about the TM the day I regged it, and asked what they wanted me to do with the name. The lady said I had 'made her day' and was very friendly, since she said she is usually up to her ears with legal battles with domainers infringing on the TM and fighting it. She left it up to me, so I had my registrar drop the name. Nice and clean.

Just some info to help you round out your decision; not a suggestion for you to do the same thing ethically... I still have a couple other, ahem, domain names that are TM infringements, though not about realtors... so that would be slightly hypocritical :)
