The fear of numbers . . . This is an actual phobia. Not a personal phobia though:) NumberPhobia.com is still available, and I thought about snagging it. Literally the same amount of letters in numero and number, but NumeroPhobia means the fear of numbers officially . . . ArachnoPhobia.com is better than the fearofspiders.com and if my eyes didn't fails me they have the same amount of letters.

So NumeroPhobia.com . . .

There are actually quite a few phobias still out there from the book of psychology or whatever official guide is. I was wondering though if phobias like:

DomainPhobia
MoneyPhobia
DreamPhobia

Kinda making stuff up now but I do wonder if a domain name like arachnophobia is better or worse than spiderphobia? Let's use this as an example! Is arachnophobia or spiderphobia better?

I would think that NumeroPhobia could be used by math people, tutors and educational type places, and possibly medical/mental/psychology type places that try and deal with irrational fears.

At one time I had a side job teaching drivers education! I know funny right? Well there was this one time I was afraid of numbers. I asked a kid what his favorite subject in school was. He said math. I asked him what the square root of 9 was bc I was then going to ask him what the square root of -9 was. Well the first question stumped him. I became very afraid. Lol. If math is best subject and you can't answer what is root of 9, I am afraid very afraid. Lol

Have you registered it recently?

Interesting fact I checked many phobia related domains week ago.
I was surprised how many one-word phobias still avaliable, but suddenly realized that one phobia has many synonyms.
In specific case: fear of number - arithmophobia or numerophobia.
I think numerophobia is more attractive domain name, but still dont know is there any value in it.
My prediction - high $xx ($xxx, but need more luck).

If certain phobia is more common, there is more value in it.
Also, more synonyms will lower its prize, more than twice, I think.

This makes sense! I did snag numerophobia because it seems in the US at least there is plenty of number fears! Im in education. I can see a math specialty co using numerophobia . . . or redirecting numerophobia to numerophobia no more dot com:)

The origin of the word "numero" is latin, meaning number.

Phobia is greek word which comes from greek word phobos (irrational fear).

Phobia names usually (maybe always, dont know exactly) has latin suppletion affixed to greek word -phobia.

You didnt get the point.
NumeroPhobia = mix of 2 language = no sense
Numero > spanish word for Number
In latin they say Numerus, in greek sounds like "arifmos" (from here we say "arifmetika" in russian).
It could be spanish brandable or whatever, but in spanish we dont write "ph" > Phobia is Fobia.

Numero has latin origin.

And we can stop this discussion now.

I don't really believe this name has any luck, but if i were end-user, i would select mathphobia.com or numberphobia than this one.

It has latin origin, but it is not in latin.
Anyone who hears today the word Numero will asociate it with spanish or italian, but not with latin.

Psychiatry identifies three different categories of phobias (DSM-IV,1994)

Phobias are classified by psychologists and psychiatrists. NumeroPhobia is the name they came up with. You will actually see a lot of Latin words/roots in the phobias.

I like NumberPhobia as well and it is/was available. It isn't the "technical" name for fear of numbers.

Not that I have to have technical names all of a sudden! I just chose to go with the officially recognized version!
