What about making it so that people recieve a certain amount of NP for positive TR ratings? This will encourage people to do more business, do it right, and work ont heir trader rating.

That's what i said previously .

you suggested it with regards of getting np$, ie you only get them if you post a URL

What I mean is that to combat what all4cost was mentioning (people leaving feedback for np$ incentives and stuff) and to force people to leave a URL when leaving feedback and ensuring it is a thread in the market place

As others have said it would be open to abuse, but also, how much could you really increase NP $ per post. Currently it is set at 2 NP $ per domain related post, but I think if you went above 3 NP $ a post, the whole NP $ system would be sent out of whack. If the maximum increase was only 1 NP $, then in reality we would be looking at .5 NP $ or .25 NP $ increase per post, which is better than nothing, but not worth making the change IMO.

It sais you have 83 TR. It counts TR according to the "Members who left a positive". Now where it sais "All positive feedback received", that's the score that DOES count all TR no matter how many times a member submitted a TR for you. However, if you notice, the "All positive feedback received", is higher than the "Feedback Score", meaning it doesn't count against your TR if a member submits more than once.

You just proved what I said. It does count your TR in that it currently gives you the reputation points given with a positive feedback rating. It doesn't update the number sure, but it does count in the sense that you get rep and your overall score increases.

To get technical about it, you are right that it does not update your actual TR number but you are given credit in terms of rep and the feedback is noted.

I say leave it how it is. If you want NP$ earn it by posting, selling something, or buy them.

My opinion on the idea is: :td:

Why would receiving a few NP$ per TR make you want to do business? The profits made from actually selling should be enough incentive for you to want to do business, not that you will make a couple NP$ when you receive the TR. The attempts by others to abuse the system would definitely be there. There's already an issue with the TR system being abused by members who think it's necessary to give TR for minor things such as posting at another member's forum, adding a link to a signature, etc...

You say make it so that you have to input a link to receive the NP$. That wouldn't work either, an example would be:

Freddy is good friends with Billy Bob, so Freddy starts a sales thread selling one of his names. Billy Bob says sold in the thread and acts like he bought the name. They give each other TR and use that link to the sales thread so they could receive the NP$ bonus on the trade rating.

How would we be able to monitor the system for such abuse? There's MANY ways to earn NP$ now, I don't think it's necessary to add something that would clearly be abused. You can sell names, services, products, complete incentives, refer active referrals, buy NP$, and the list continues to receive NP$. There's no shortage of ways to earn it.

Suggestions are always encouraged though, as that's what makes it an even better place....but I just don't think this idea would work or be beneficial.

it would not work by sending the link of the thread, as many do business privately on NamePros through the PM service, so there is no way it would work.personally, i think that you shouldnt.besides, if you think about it you earn enough from TR's because if you have a good TR people would rather do business with you than people who don't have a TR

Excellent analysis, Chris. Pretty much my same thoughts. Really we're trying to discourage frivilous trader ratings and this would be counterproductive to that effort. Really I see no reason to incentivize this feature.
