I had a thought just before i fell asleep last night and thought I would share it here.

I have noticed a few new members who are asking what 1NP$ is in US$. Plus I have seen a few incentive sites selling hits for NP$.

What if one of these started selling NP$ for like $0.001 each? Is there something in place if this would happen?

Just got to worrying last night that the NP$ market could be ruined if a few people started selling NP$ for way less than what it usually goes for...

Maybe we need a rule that says NP$ cant be sold for less than the Bank Price of $0.005 per NP$?

If you want to sell at 0.001, I'll take them ;) Good idea anyway, but why to sell at 0.001 if bank buy them at 0.005 ?...

Because some dont know the bank buys it for that price.
Just some incentive sites under sell lots of stuff and it just dawned on me last night someone could sell for way less and undermine the market...

It's most efficient and desirable to have the NP$'s trade openly - market driven - within a comfortable "trading range" of between $0.005 per NP$ - $0.03 per NP$ ( << those figures copied directly from the NP$ Bankยฉ - whereby "The bank is established to stablize the NP$ economy."). :gl:

In addition to ALL of the cool things that can be done with NP$'s now, it is encumbant upon Staffโ„ข (with vital input from the community) to continue to add new and enhanced offerings, and value-added products and services for NP$'s, IMHO. This will further stabilize and stimulate demand for the Forum currency ... please see the "branch out" thread here as well when considering the larger picture, in my humble view.
As always, thanks for your thoughts. :tu:

If someone were to sell NP$ in quantity at $.001/NP$ I don't see how it could hurt anything. In fact anyone buying it that cheaply could turn around and sell it to the bank and get 5 times their money out of it.

As Jeff said, the market truely drives the value of a NP$ and the bank and our site offerings help to keep the value stable. For example, our site offers new domain registrations for 575 NP$. It would be silly for someone to sell that same 575 NP$ for $.58, would it not?

I guess so, though I would seriously question the quality of those 5000 clicks.

Looking at the NP Exchange Offers to Buy, there's a huge waiting list of people wanting to buy NP$ over the bank value. If someone was crazy enough to give away their money for free, I don't believe it would hurt anything other than a short term difficulty for people wanting to sell at a more realistic market value. The NP$ the person is giving away has to have come from somewhere, so it is already in circulation and not being created out of thin air. It's a limited source.

Sort of like if someone was throwing hundreds of $5 bills off the top of the Empire State Building, I don't think it would devalue the $5 bills I carry in my wallet. Eventually the guy would run out of money, right?

the people would have to earn these NP first of all, either by posting, or by buying for a higher price, so they would need millions if not billions of posts a day to be able to effect the NP market, dont worry lol
