Official thread for all things NotRenewing.com don't let your domain name expire without trying first.

Domains must be at least 24 months old and expiring within 12 months. Paid plans include young domain slots that let you list domains under 24 months — the number of slots depends on your tier. There is one submission form for everything: add any domain and we check its age for you, using a young domain slot automatically when it is under 24 months old.

Listings stay active until your domain expires. You can relist for free if your domain doesn't sell.

The free tier includes 25 listing slots. Paid plans are billed monthly and include more slots and young domain slots:

  • Starter — $5/mo: 50 listing slots, 5 young domain slots
  • Growth — $12/mo: 150 listing slots, 15 young domain slots
  • Pro — $25/mo: 300 listing slots, 25 young domain slots
  • Business — $49/mo: 600 listing slots, 60 young domain slots
  • Enterprise — $99/mo: 1,000 listing slots, 1,000 young domain slots
All plans activate immediately. Cancel anytime.

This will certainly see the inventory noticed by a few more people with $99 budgets and good taste.

When a new keyword alert is created, will it also show domains that were listed before the alert existed?
It previously did not, but now it does.

After going 37/37 when it comes to successful buyer transactions, I had a bit of a rough patch lately.

In my last 14 buys, 6 failed.

Of the 6 -

(2) Where the seller listed a domain and just never followed through.

(1) The domain was listed as a .com and was actually a .co.

(1) A two word domain where the second word was spelled correctly on the site but the actual domain was a typo.

(1) The seller said the newly listed domain was already sold, after I bought it.

(1) A two word domain where the seller listed a completely different second word than the actual domain.

The common link in all these cases is that the sellers were at fault, either via carelessness or just being non-responsive.

The good news is that in all cases, a refund was quickly provided.

I apologize for the rough patch. I am doing everything I can think of to ensure a quality experience. Sellers that do not follow through or otherwise cause a refund are fined. They receive a couple of chances and are then banned. I hope things return to your favor and you continue to find value in the site.

Sellers with a consistent delivery record could earn a subtle checkmark on their domain listings.

Overall, I think 45/51 is a pretty solid track record.

In these cases the issues were with the sellers and they were all resolved quickly.

There is only so much you can do, if you want to keep the low burden to use the venue.

We are talking about $99 domains, so I think having a low burden makes more sense than putting up roadblocks.

I think you are doing a great job.

It basically started with a minimum viable product and has scaled to 1000+ sales. There are gonna be some growing pains.

If it's too prominent, buyers may start doubting listings that lack the hint, which would rarely be justified. It should work as a subtle additional signal for returning buyers. I'm not sure it actually helps, but it rewards good behavior and complements the punitive measures already in place.
