I've had this one for quite a while, and I'd be interested to hear the community's thoughts (potential resale value, development strategies, etc).

Oh man, did I post this in the wrong forum? Sorry. Trying to do too many things at once, I guess.

North Korea is known to be the internet's "black-hole".

True (along with Western Sahara). However, there is significant international interest in the reclusive nation, especially recently.

$0 - developed or not. I can reg a .com with higher value!

Really? So how come the .info, the .biz, the .eu, the .mobi and even the .tel are registered?
High ad competition, lots of searches, but limited commercial use - probably the only way to gain higher income than from ppc ads is to collaborate with those travel agencies that make trips to NK. With the .org extension you would get the exact match bonus too, so it's far better than the above mentioned versions.
Value: $1xx resale.

I agree with tetrapak. I would try to flip it - not many obvious commercial development possibilities so unlikely to be worth your time otherwise. Find out who owns other geos with hyphens and appraoach them.

Because 'domaining' in the year 2010 consists of dumb people following the actions of other dumb people who themselves are following the actions of smart people who did what they're presently doing, 10 years earlier.

north-korea.com: Spam Redirect
north-korea.net: SEDO
north-korea.org: SEDO
north-korea.info: domainer for-sale lander
north-korea.biz: SEDO
north-korea.mobi: Nothing
north-korea.tel: Nothing
north-korea.eu: SEDO

This is basically the case with most domain names...

??? I have it set to not resolve to any site... there's no way it should bring up sedo or any other site. I have chosen to have it offline for now.

Also, the .com version belongs to DigiMedia (clue: yeah.com redirect), and the .net is BuyDomains (not sedo). These guys may not be the most well liked in the industry, but they're not exactly dumb or small operations... they're some of the biggest, most profitable players.

The .com makes sense. Everything else is domainers chasing a big bag of imaginary hope.

Surely, as a domainer, 450k exact searches per month means something to you. Surely as a 'smart' domainer you know the fact that not only the .com, but so are the .net and .org getting the exact match bonus.
As a sidenote, I own a NK related site, and if NK hits the news it can make up-to $100 within 24 hours from Adsense, and mind you, it's a static minisite.

If it has 450k exact searches, then it may have value if developed. The problem is, it's just a matter of time before it becomes a historical name. (Hope it holds out till I go to Seoul next month).

Without looking, I am guessing the top spots are locked up by Wikipedia and the other usual suspects.

It might be nice to use it as an aid portal. They'll need it when the poop hits the fan.

Good domain to develop.
Resale value as-is: limited.
It's still a real country domain (while it lasts).
Nobody can say a geo like this is worth zero :imho:
