What can we do about it? I suggest a list at NP below...

umm?

Well in regards to the topic open a non paying bidders report place a negative strike against the persons account. Thanks to eBays brilliant move to deny sellers negative feedback for these so called people if they do leave negative feedback in retaliation you can contact an eBay rep and have them remove it under the new rules.

That's normally how we dealt with them.

ya, but too bad eBay has horrible customer support. Only way I could get support was via live support & they just hire random folks to spew out canned responses. I sent multiple emails via their contact forms, to them and never got any response. I wish their support was more like paypal.

But yes, I would leave a strike against them. Goodluck getting the feedback removed. I had a buyer leave neg feedback and they would not do anything about it. This was an international buyer who had payment pending for over a week.

Yea I did forget to mention we were powersellers with a dedicated rep so our customer service had a direct line so it may be a little more tricky than I had stated. Unpaid strikes are good for getting those NPB accounts closed down however.

Sorry about the delete...it was late.

Look, my idea was to start a non-paying bidders list at NP - it could help minimize the problem. As it is, these guys can just not pay whenever they change their minds and preserve a 100% reputation.

Any thoughts on this? Is it possible, or even worth considering?

Actually I think it would be a good idea. On a car forum I use to frequent they had a ripoff report just for NPB ebayers and known scam artists.

One vote is enough for me. If the mods have no objection (anyone out there?) I'll start it.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Ebay seems bent on throwing everything in the buyer's corner and neglecting seller as seller's cant even leave neutral, let alone negative, feedback now. Therefore if they have decided to outcast sellers and not allow them to communicate their problems to others through the feedback system then other methods are necessary such as this idea.

This thread title serves as well as any. I'll have a couple posted in 2-3 days (waiting for cases to close). As far as Ebay, they obviously profit by protecting dishonest bidders. They keep all the listing fees, and collect again when I place the name up a second time. So we'll do what little we can to protect ourselves.

You can counter the listing fees by placing an unpaid strike against their account. That way you at least recoup your loss on that end.

As I understand it, you only get the Final Value Fee credit back. That's the percentage of the sale price they take. If you were unlucky enough to have an upgraded listing, as I was once, with bold, borders and the works, they keep that money. That's one reason I only use unenhanced listings now.

Ah yea that's right. I forgot it was just the FVF and nothing else. Since eBay decided to take away most sellers rights to fight back when needed I have restricted all my auctions. Everything from no unpaid strikes on users accounts to no negative feedbacks. I may be limiting my customer base but I have a higher chance of getting paid.

Yes, even just the listing fee without upgrades can be a significant percentage of the fees on lower end domains or for domains you start at a high price. Not to mention the biggest cost which is the time involved in listing an item, selling it, chasing up non paying bidders, opening and responding to the unpaid item claim all to end up with no sale and your listing fees down the drain.

ebay seem hell bent on protecting buyers while not giving a stuff about the people that are actually putting the inventory on the site - the sellers.
