Unstoppable Domains โ€” Expired Auctions

No expiring domain auctions on Afternic anymore?

I was under the impression that Afternic auctions off expiring Melbourne IT domains, but at the moment I see NO expiring domain auctions whatsoever on Afternic. Did they stop doing that? If so, is there anyone doing pre-drop catches of Melbourne IT? I know they were with SnapNames before they started going with Afternic...just puzzled at the moment where names are supposed to end up. Thanks in advance for anyone who's in the know and sheds light on this.

Just so everyone knows, I got this response from Afternic:

"Hi Steve,
There was a change regarding the expiring domains we used to list on our site. We are no longer receiving expiry names from Melbourne IT, and we do not currently have a partner set up as a replacement. We will no longer be adding additional domains to this list. I apologize for the inconvenience, and please let me know if you have any further questions."

Guess no one cares?

Maybe all the platforms are quaking in their boots after the fiasco @ Snap.

They should all be running around like idiots trying to do internal audits to make sure they are not tarnished by this. Anyone else caught in shill bidding is going to go down hard after this.

Prerelease domains from Melbourne IT are available at Snapnames. I won a 1999 Melbourne IT domain through Snap no later than yesterday.

Afternic's auction feature is not the best but you could find a deal from time to time...

Having no expiring domains should REALLY prevent a seller from sending a domain to "auction" on Afternic, as nobody will be looking for it :)

Yea, things are unfortunately looking pretty grim there.
