It took me some convincing, but I do see value in acquiring at least one NNN.io domain. Right now the LLL.io are selling quite a bit. But remember, LLL's have 19,683 combination whereas NNN's there are less than 1000. Ontop of that the Chinese want numbers right now more than letters, so there's more demand. $35 is a step reg fee, but I still recommend believers in NNN buy at least one and throw it in their portfolio for a year to see what happens.

There are currently 504 of 999 left to buy. Please see availability list below. The odd thing is that quite a few 4's and 0's have already been taken out. Not sure why anyone would leave the premiums and take the rest, but better for whoever is looking to reg some NNN's.

Minnows become big fish by eating profits however small.

EDIT: What's really important is return on capital on a time-weighted basis.

•••
It's not the same return in real dollars though.

What's better...selling $25 regs for $50 or selling $2500 aftermarket purchases for $5000? You decide. This is what separates big fish from the minnows.

Keith, I appreciate your posts about NN.IO, but if you like them so much, please go ahead and pay the current market price for some. Or do you already own them?

Minnows eh? I'm sure lots of the people that bought LLLL.com and all the numbered .com,.net,.org thought that too when they hand reg'd $10 domains and sold them for XXX-XXXX+ a few months later. Just minnow buys lol, I enjoyed that.

I do like the pressure sale, but seen it too many times. A+ for effort :xf.grin:

I'm not pressuring anyone. It's just ridiculous to countdown NNN when NN are selling cheap. If you can't swing $xxx for a domain you should probably not invest in any domains whatsoever.

Also consider the fact that a sellout of NNN based on hype doesn't equal a positive ROI. Usually the people selling in this type of frenzy make the money, while those buying end up holding the bag.

If you think it's cheap then go buy it and flip it for a big profit, why tell us? For someone that's been on here for almost 9 years, you sure have an immature attitude towards this. Wonder what Eric and the NP admins would say to your comment. Telling introductory domainers they shouldn't buy unless they throw everything they got into it. If NNN.IO is hype then so is NN.IO and N.IO. Technically all domaining is hype, based off supply and demand with speculation.

I've dealt with people like you on the stock market forums for over 11 years and I was hoping not to deal with the same poor attitude on the domain forums, unfortunately that's not the case.

You are counting down NNN .io and .mobi. This is a clear sign that you just don't know any better.

My attitude is far from poor. You just don't understand domains which is why you're taking offense to my observation of your posts. Meanwhile you say I should buy 94.io because I said it's a better investment than 3N io. I suppose the real question is why you don't buy out NNN io and mobi since you're leading the charge on the buyouts as if the investment is so great?

You both have good points. I do believe that domain investors have to buy what they are comfortable with. I look at 3L .com's all the time. Just can't afford them. Same on every level.

There is a big difference between basic reg fee and spending xxx's on single domains.

0
•••
As far as "leading the charge", there is no such thing. Every person makes their own decision. Win or lose. Also, I like the idea of buying different extensions as an investor. This way, depending on what's hot, you have some.

Well that's just it, I'm simply posting a list. I'm not forcing anybody to buy anything. I didn't think a countdown list of domains available was a crime.

Who knows what is going to happen in 2016. I sure don't. But I also know that I am picking up 2N and 2L ccTLD's for under $50. I think the profit will be good on those. I think probably as good as 2N or 2L .io names.

I actually like ccTLD's more than gTLDs. The gTLDs might have problems down the road, but counties aren't going anywhere.

You said NN.IO was a better buy and I said then you buy it. Every domainer can make their own choices on here.

I do own NNN.MOBI and LLL.MOBI and those are just threads on here, nothing more.

I agree that I'm new at this and nobody is perfect, but I don't jump onto say the .XYZ forum and tell those domainers that their NNN.XYZ is no good and they should buy NN.XYZ for 20 times the price.

It's risk and reward.

I can't afford 6-7 figure domains just like some can't afford 3-4 figure domains. The difference is that if you can't afford to risk $xxx on a domain then you better ask yourself if you should buy any.

At any rate, good luck to the NNN io and mobi buyers!

Every investor knows their exposure limit. Sure, buying a domain for 2500 and selling for 5k is better, but what if the market crashed. Not everyone wants that level of exposure. What I like the most is buying for XX and selling for 5k. That's what I'm working on.

Domaining 101 - of course NN is better than NNN. That doesn't mean I'm going to buy every NN because I point out the obvious.

With domains it's never quantity, it's always quality! Forget a NNN buyout, let it happen if you believe it will. While people are regging mad you can grab far more valuable domains relatively cheap. K I'm done now. Good luck to y'all.

That's extremely rare, almost unheard of.

This is how these things usually go...a thread like this is created and people go reg crazy. They forget that dirty little thing called "renewal fee". Renewal fees and dreams are responsible for most every NP'r fleeing after their first year.

I'm telling you, forget this buyout BS. 1% of the time register a domain to take a chance. 99% of the time buy aftermarket after you've thoroughly done your homework.

Except in the past when these buyouts happened you didn't have a wall of Chinese investors and money chasing short domains in all kinds of extensions. And it's really just getting going...

If I had posted a wanted thread here last year buying LLLL.com and NNNNN.com for $100 a piece, people would have called me crazy, but I'd be laughing all the way to the bank now.

It's been shown that short domains with Chinese premium letters and numbers are hot this year, so investing a little in these open extensions where NNN and LLL are still available might be a good idea to set up for 2016, if you don't spend more than you can afford and pick good domains. The buying has just been relentless this year, and if you do Whois checks on what's getting regged in other extensions, you see a lot of Chinese names and addresses. Some can choose to sit on the sidelines and say it's crazy, or you can jump in and try to profit from it.

And adults make poor decisions, especially green domainers.

As Jack pointed out I've been here almost a decade. Most members that take offense to advice and/or can't recognize it, are usually gone within a year.

@Keith I think your advice is worth less than reg-fee, to be quite frank.
