Ok, last one from me for today. I really like this name since I think it does get away - legally - from any confusion with napster.com. It has some curiosity value and might be a good domain for a forum for people to criticise the way big media is trying to control ruthlessly all forms of music downloads - "nipping" at the bud the possibilities of new ideas and new forms of music commerce.

So nipster.com would be a satire of napster.com. That is, instead of it helping music grow it nips it at the bud and suffocates its growth...

Ah, heck! Make my day and tell me it is nice. Nobody likes my "personalising.com" that I grabbed today...

Nipster.com would make a great drinking forum..... having a nip or two of an evening, etc.... Drink recipes, Share Your Drinking Story, Review Wines, Dinner recipes with your favorite wines, Drinking News, Links to regional breweries..... That completely brands the site in a different niche than napster. I like this name very much. $xxx, imo..........

It could be a good name but only if its developed well. A good forum presence might earn you a bit with ads. Maybe also napster misspellings could generate some ad revenue.

I will say, this name caught my eye enough for me to click my back button and see what it was all about. Nice brandable term -- which are somewhat impossible to appraise -- but I like it!

I would not go for the satire angle or use it for anything music related to draw the attention of napster. It's brandable for another industry though. Consider "napster" -- the term really doesn't have inherent meaning, but you now associate it with music downloads. This one has similar potential.

IMO, you could not even think of it being a typo for Napster, since the "a" and the "i" are in 2 completely different places on the keyboard.

I think it's a cute name, easy to remember, very brandable. Without that brand behind it however, I think you would be looking at low $xx only.

Nice domain. Did remind me of a typo of Napster at first, but a is quite a long way from I, as stated above.

Thanks for the great comments. If it does go up for sale I think I will sell it on these forums. But I'll hang onto it for a short while first to see if some idea germinates on a possible development. I think I will take your advice and avoid any confusion with napster or music downloading. For some of the appraisers who have read or commented I might mention that I have already received an offer in the mid $XXX for the domain.
