Nintendo Gamecube Users

I'm not a big game player, but if I play I like games like Mario and Sonic, baseball, or arcade-style racing games (Ridge Racer, etc).

I recently bought a Nintendo 64 for Diddy Kong Racing, Mario Kart, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, and Rayman.. now I just bought a Nintendo Gamecube off eBay last night with two games: Mario Kart Double Dash and Luigi's Mansion.

Any other Gamecube owners? I don't have mine yet (waiting for delivery) and have never played the system before . What do you all think of it?

(One reason I looked at the Gamecube (besides the Mario games) was because the games are still being produced for it and rental games are available for it.)

Gamecube is a great platform, and the reason it is still competing with the other two big consoles is because it has original games. If i were you, I would not get a gamecube because the next gen systems are coming out, and the Wii (nintendos next console) doesn't even come close to matching the Xbox 360 or PS3 in terms of graphics. Its price is very low too! So If I were you I would get one of those for $200 when it comes out, instead of a GC that is $99 now.

I already bought a Gamecube off eBay for $65 with the two games I mentioned..

I'll most likely get a Wii at some point tho I think I might get a Dreamcast next, just to have one for the Sonic games.

I like buying older game systems off eBay or at a game exchange because you can save a few bucks off buying new.

I have a game cube. A good multiplayer game you do not have is Super Smash Bros Melee.

But I highly advise you to not buy a dreamcast.

Apart from a few decent games, I wouldn't personally buy a Game Cube. Most of the decent games on there are just remakes of the orginals and in most cases, I prefer the originals...

If you have one, you should definately pick up Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros.

It's a bit late to get the GameCube, no offense. I think it was a waste of money on your side. The Nintendo Wii is coming out shortly - October, actually.

My girl is going crazy without Mario Party 7 but that bitch will have to suffer through the summer on her one game a week allowance for her DS.
Do you want any of my old games for the GC ? I have some good ones: Mario Sunshine, Tiger Woods '03-06, Donkey Konga 1 and 2, SSX Tricky, Tony Hawk Underground 2, and some of the guide books, too.

Yeah, one of the reasons I bid on this system was to get the Mario Kart Double Dash!

Hm, I'd like to get any Mario-based games.. also want to get the Sonic games and Nitro Kart as well.

Hopefully the system will work properly and arrive in a timely fashion. I paid for it via PayPal within seconds after winning the auction last night. Still haven't had an email from the owner yet. His email goes to jeremyheard.com tho and I got a 404 when I tried to go to his site.. his feedback looks legit tho. He just got positive feedback for a laptop he sold.

I love my Gamecube, play often, Smash Brothers Melee and Legend Of Zelda: Wind Wakers two of the best games made in the past 5 years. Mario Sunshine is another excellent game, also Beyond Good and Evil great game that I don't think ever got the attention that it deserved.

I love my Gamecube and will never get rid of it. One thing you will love is the WaveBird controllers, if you find them, get them.

Games, Super Smash Bros Melee, Legend Of Zelda, Pikmin, Resident Evil, Paper Mario, their are tons of them. Goodluck and have fun with it.

First on my games agenda is to get the Nitro Kart, Megaman, and Sonic games for the Gamecube.

Nintendo says 100 hours and About.com only got to 50 hours and the batteries were still going, with no noticeable deterioration in gaming quality. Their is no rumble feature and that helps the batteries life.

Bought 7 Gamecube games today on eBay: Super Mario Smash Bros. Melee, Wario World, Pikmin 2, Mario Golf Toadstool Tour, Zelda The Windwaker, Zelda The Ocarina of Time, and Harvest Moon.

Super Mario Smash Bros Melee and Zelda The Ocarina of Time both average $25-$35 each used on eBay. I already had Pikmin so wanted Pikmin 2. I really wanted Zelda the Windwaker and Wario World a lot too.. I got them all for an avg of $13 each (including s&h).

That brings the number of Gamecube games I have to 20. I also have:

I have a Gamecube, but it is just gathering dust, to be honest. I completed Luigi's Mansion when I first got it, I must say, the games are very addictive, they really have that "fun" feel to them. Best things Nintendo ever did were Mario and Zelda IMO. Gamecube is not bad, but I would take my Xbox or PS2 over it any day.

As for the next-gen consoles, I cannot comment as I do not have any yet, I'm waiting for the PS3 and that will be the first one I buy: PS3 > ALL :D:D

However... all this talk of the Gamecube really has brought back memories of all those hours I spent playing Luigi's Mansion and the massive fun it brought me. Maybe I didn't give the GC a chance, I think I'm gonna toddle off to eBay now and buy some Zelda/Mario/Sonic etc games and give them a whirl. Let's give this Gamecube a real blast :p

Good idea.. I really enjoy mine.. waiting for the Wii to hit the secondary market unless the "new" price is truly $200-$250 and a good value. I like the Nintendo game franchises best.. there're no games to really set the other systems apart IMO.. you can't beat Mario/Zelda, etc IMO for great fun.

I also heard the Gamecube graphics are better than the PS2 but don't own one so.. couldn't say! I know I'm certainly glad I bought the Gamecube. Looking for accessories for it now. It's very versatile.

I think I'm gonna toddle off to eBay now and buy some Zelda/Mario/Sonic etc games and give them a whirl. Let's give this Gamecube a real blast :p
