While searching the web, I found an excellent software called NineSYNC, a data synchronization web service software. You can use the internet to periodically synchronize source and a destination data. You can download a demo version from http://www.ninesync.com or http://www.jence.com. I have downloaded the software from the site and got the username from the site as well. Then tried it.
I have many clients scattered around the country, and most of the time I had to download or upload every file I make change to. I was looking for software that would do all these for me. Because I work with a laptop, I wanted it to be running elsewhere, with which I do not have to bother about. NineSYNC, developed by Jence Incorproated (NineSTEP), is THE solution I was looking for. NineSYNC is a web service, that is running somewhere on the network. All you do is connect to it, tell which source database and filesystem you would like to synchronize, and thats it. Set up the auto synchronization mode and forget about it.
By doing this, I am always assured that the next morning my server is synchronized with all the other client's servers. You need fast internet connection to use it, though.
NineSYNC works best for sync between server to server. If you frequently synchronize data between servers, this is the right and the NUMBER ONE server on the market.
So get the username and password and try it. The NineSYNC mapping feature is very powerful. You do not have to do mapping unless you really want to. If you really are using mapper feature, better know what you are doing.
After using NineSYNC, I am very pleased and focus on my work. Let NineSYNC do the sync for me. By next morning, everything I have done is synced with my clients. So give it a try.
NineSYNC is a Internet based data synchronization web service, a new concept in Global Data Synchronization.
