At the beginning of August, I started researching and thanks to this forum I got started quickly. Today I posted some expired names on the wrong thread, immediately was helped to the correct place and reposted there and some addition expired names, someone else here might be interested in. It's nice to see an active forum like this, I have been on the net' since 1995, with many different things and watched the growth, dotcom crash and the waves of things rolling in and out. Thanks for hosting this forum to the founder and moderators, it is appreciated.

A few weeks ago I started "collecting" names, ...rather should I say purchased on speculation for resale. Ha. I've recently decided to have some fun with this business, as I retired early and now bored, and can't sit around playing guitar or with my GF's all day. Tough life I know. As I read these threads, it's interesting to read the various levels of experience and I appreciate people sharing their info. I started (2) successful business' back 20 years ago, one of which is sort of similar as this as I purchased used equipment for resale and bought and sold thousands of surplus niche equipment from auctions, sealed bids, company closings and buyout's, etc. Some was pure speculation, some was mild risk remarketing, but like this name business it's interesting. Marketing back then though was limited to cold calling and direct mail, but with the net- those of you who have not seen the changes need to realize the opportunities abound and we are fortunate as all the resources are there for immediate information look-up and access. None of which was available pre-90ish in time. It's a very time consuming business to work both ends of researching, buying, marketing and selling, but I did well. I also brokered other associates equipment which was lucrative. Then Ebay came along.... fortunately I sold most of my inventory off before that. Spent 15 years on the phone selling and the internet really was a boom for us since we had adopted the net' and were prepared while our competitors were not back in 1999-2003. Back at that time, I spent many all-night sessions doing hand SEO work for my business' and achieved multiple key word, first page organic rankings! It was a great time.

I've been through over a milliion names so far these past few weeks, and the oddball names people originally registered who knows when and for-what is pretty amusing really, certainly are the majority, and fortunately a few good ones can be found.

Would like to network here with others, and can offer my own opinions and ideas hopefully to benefit others and vice versa.

Thanks!
