i guess from my limited view, i couldn't think how one would develop legislative.mobi. the one that made sense would have been legislation.mobi (someone already too this one).

imho, unregistered domain would have been more valuable had other TLDs been developed, not just parked.

anyways, each to their own. good luck with it!

I never hear of "transcan", doesn't mean it was a bad reg but I would never type it in. As far as the OP offering some dictionary names that are available. I think they are all junk. Sorry Garrett, but "legislature" and the rest of the names would require that the .mobi really takes off and then and only then would they have a hope of having value YEARS from now. That means a lot of renewal fees which will eat into any potential profit.

I think those of us that got in on the .mobi the first few months are doing ok, but those that are registering names now are over speculating the extension. The vast majority of recent regs would take serious dev to realize any sort of ROI.

As it stands, I would pick up a couple names on the aftermarket rather than purchase hundreds of the type of names being registered recently.

I see .mobi as an investment opportunity, but I invested early. Those brand new to the game have got here just a little to late.

Agreed. I got here late -- only started seriously regging names in February, however I must admit that the quality of names even since then to now has dropped considerably. For those that are considering developing the names -- it's not too late! Pick a niche topic and get to work :tu:

I've developed 1 niche name -- orac.mobi, and it's averaging 300 hits/month and bringing me targeted traffic every day to my main site. Considering it took a grand total of about 3 hours to create and hasn't been updated since then, I'm pretty pleased with the results

That is awesome! There are great dev opportunities for the mobile web. I can do little to no SEO with my .mobi names and they get traffic. I would have to do a lot more SEO work with my .com names to see that sort of traffic.

The down side has been the monetization of my mobile websites, but it looks like google might start playing ball here soon. Things could get interesting!

Exactly -- I actually haven't done any SEO on my main site and receive more traffic from m.yahoo.com than Yahoo or Google Having the #1 spot on OneSearch for "antioxidants" is not likely something I could ever achieve on Google or Yahoo.

neo is certainly entitled to express his opinion and i (or we) appreciate your effort in identifying unregged mobi domain names.

perhaps classifying these mobi domains as junk was over the top, but if the dotCOM and dotNET domains are not even developed, i would be leery of regging it just for the sake of it (unless it fits with mobile function that a user would want).

i'm certainly not the expert, but imho, it would be better to spend the little extra $ and look for a niche mobi domain in the secondary market.

I don't think they were trash at all, if anything the names were "food for thought" and it was nice of binary to share (afterall, many do not share searches they have done, even if they aren't interested in ever regging the available names).

in my humble-humble opinion, you would be hard-pressed to make a profit by owning a legislative.COM, never mind a mobi.
