Hey there!

Well, here's my story. Back in 2003-2004 I started purchasing domains, picked up about 175 of them. Had 2 successful sales. That fueled my purchasing. Then all sorts of distractions came up and I never got around to doing what I had set out to which was buy and sell domains. Since then I also purchased a few domains here and there. Now my total is right around 250. Now that I'm married, my wife wants me to deal with the domains. So here I am, a total newbie for all intents and purposes with a small but sizable portfolio. I have a few that I think should be worth thousands but honestly I'm not sure. Here's my starting plan, join as many forums as possible to learn the trade. List them all on afternic, sedo, godaddy.

Aside from that, I have some useful skills: HTML/CSS pro, Seasoned CMS developer, some general design skills, I'm versed in print design too.

Looking forward to digging in and learning the ropes here. If anyone has some tips or suggestions, I'm all ears!

Thanks!
Roasty

Welcome to domaining & namepros, Roasty. NP is the best domain forum on the net, you can learn a lot by checking out "new posts" daily.

As for your portfolio, we can advise on its quality if you share the top 10 domains from it.

~Cheers

i'm a little torn about posting me list right away. is there any potential repercussions to putting the list on forum? in the meantime, what i can say is that i think i own a lot of junk with an occasional gem. when i was purchasing the names i was focused more on branding names. in hindsight that probably wasn't a great idea. i have few good 5 letter brands that are catchy. i also have some industry specific stuff for the solar industry, web/graphic design names, some adult industry names, a couple of attorney names, etc. anyways, ill wait to hear back from you guys about the posting lists of domains.

thnx,
roasty

one option is
DomainOne(dot)com
DomainTwo(dot)com
etc

or another option is
https://www.namepros.com/domain-appraisals/ (just don't take any of the responses personally)

Hi Briguy, thanks for the welcome! that makes sense, that way the domains don't end up indexed. i think i will post some in the domain appraisal.

i have a ton a questions - this thread probably not the place to ask. right now i'm setting the dns (on all the domains that i'm not using) to point to afternic parking pages. for years they've been going to nothing.. i know, i know, what a waste. i'm wondering though if makes more sense to put up quick page and create my own "parking pages" with adsense. i'm going to research the forums and see what folks are doing in terms of parking and monetizing.
