if you use spanishmango for a clothing shop you might get destroyed, but if you use it for a website about mangoes you might be ok. basically, usage plays a part.

it's a domain i found not registered and thought about buying it.
and even sell it immediately.

just stay away from trademark, companies owning them are rather aggressive about it.

Do you have to loose your domain because it is a trade mark of some company? There might be companies all over the world and any term might be of a company. Is it so unsecure?

Buying a name with a trademark in it and reselling it often times will be considered bad faith. Now, on the other hand if you bought AppleToothbrushes dot com, if you used it to sell/promote/inform on toothbrushes, you are probably going to be ok (assuming there isn't a tm for 'apple' in relation to toothbrushes). Reselling... depends on the name really whether the tm owner will come after you... there is always a risk. IMHO not worth it (without knowing what the name is of coarse).

thanks for everyone

thanks for all of you. great answers.
i'd probably leave it, and search for other domains.
(actually found a nice one at the meantime)

thanks again

it comes down to usage unless its a distinct trademark.
