You have to code it in.

What does that mean exactly and how do I do it?

Either learn some HTML & CSS and maybe some Javascript
or get yourself a web page/site editor with a pretty gui and figure out how to use that.

Sounds like you might benefit the most from the editor - I recommend Dreamweaver but you should probably try one that offers free download or (heaven forbid) FrontPage.

I know HTML but how and where do I enter it in?

OK ... I'd love to help out here but I'm confused.

Generally when you download a template you will have one or more html pages, graphics. To edit the template you open index.html or index.php or index.asp or whatever you've got there and you change the html coding to modify the look to the way you want.

If you want to modify graphics - well you open the graphic in your graphics program and make changes.

Am I missing something?

No, I basicially just got a bunch of images with words in them.

And what format are these images in *.psd or is this a flash template or what?

2 of them were jpeg, one was AI, and 1 was Adobe Photoshop Image

The .ai & .psd extensions would indicate that your template was created in Adobe Illustrator and PhotShop.

I believe that the .psd file is your primary layout file and if you open it in PhotoShop (or Fireworks) you should be able to edit and save as html.

Usually, the psd's come pre-sliced. Just open 'em in ps and save the individual images. Put these in your directory and make a new html doc and add only the images and make them links.

I think that in order to maintain slices, layers and also create the html layout you will need to use PhotoShop. You could load the .psd file into MM Fireworks and export graphics and layout but you would probably need to re-slice the image first.

Those are the graphics programs that I use - there may be another that might make your template usable but I don't know which.

I would suggest that you find someone with PhotoShop - provide them with the files you have and have them export for web. then you can modify each graphic individually with any graphics package and you'll have an html layout file to work with as well.
