Yes, this is a new word just beginning to be used by teens; here's the Urban Dictionary definition:

Promposal 3 thumbs up

- a proposal from one person asking another person to the prom; is the combination of the words "prom" and "proposal."

Jake: I'm thinking about how I'll do my promposal...
Sean: Who're you going to ask?
Jake: Well, I haven't decided yet.
Sean: You have to decide before you ask someone to prom!

Heard it for my first time on a show tonight, then talked about on a review show afterward. I figured since proms are big biz these days, and new words among teens tend to skyrocket into common usage, I'd better check if the word was available... just reg'd tonight. Also got the plural.
Doubt it has much value yet, far too early to tell; plus, it's kinda long and clunky and clumsy so of course it'll never be another 'blog'; still...
Any thoughts or appraisals? Anyone familiar with this word and just how common it is yet?

I've never heard anyone talk about asking someone to the prom as a proposal. It's just who are you going with/who are you asking. From that perspective I think it's flawed - I wouldn't want to give a value on the domain though.

I agree; never heard the durn word before, nor used proposal like that.
But, it's a word, and a teen word, and a prom word, so I'll sit on it for 2 years and if it isn't worth some beans by then I'll let 'er drop.
