I'm a frontend developer, I usually build tools and company websites. I’d heard about domaining before but never really got into it. However, since the big rise of AI, work hasn’t been the same, so I’m looking to start outbounding geo domains. Any tips or guidance would be really appreciated.

The rise of AI appears to have impacted a lot of tool/app developers since it's now being leveraged to code on the fly by people that have never coded before or by novices, to give them an edge in their coding methodology, speeding up their turnaround time.

Welcome to NamePros.

As for Outbounding, the following may help in your research:
Good luck! ;)

My brother has been working as a programmer for over five years. This topic got me thinking about how vibe-coding might be influencing his work. I’ll ask him.

Hi,
I'm not an expert on geo names, but I think the general consensus is that they should be succinct, with the words in the most naturally flowing order.
There's loads of discussion on here, just search "geo".
They're quite often posted in the appraisals section, where you can get an idea of what other members think, or post your own to get some opinions.

Welcome to np, good luck (y)

I've been a developer for 30+ years and although I have owned a few domains over the years, I only started taking it seriously and decided to get into it a year ago myself.

In all those years, I have never seen such a shift as I have since AI hit, so I know exactly what you mean.

If you end up having a large portfolio, your coding skills will definitely help you out, especially with automization, organisation and keeping track of domains.

It's possible being a developer can give you a head start, as has been said above. Lot's of skills in your day job that will help you.

Don't get carried away on auction bidding, especially on GoDaddy atm, and remember it's much easier to buy names than it is to sell them.

You'll also buy some duds - learn quickly because it can get expensive and you will be out of the running if you don't learn from your mistakes.
