Regfly says it requires a plug in for your browser to see the tld?

Isnt it hard enough to get normal TLD spidered and visited?
Who really knows you need to DL to get the tlds?

What is your opinion on these TLD's?

These are new.net extensions

Not worth much cause most of the world doesn't have the plugin installed, thus reducing the traffic potential A LOT .

Anyone registering New.Net subdomains (read: fake domains) should be be whipped and sent to Siberia. The New.Net extension plug-in has been distributed as spyware with such programs as Gator. All adware programs recognise it and remove it. It's a plague. A real rip off to make cash on people's idiocy of not using other browsers than MSIE and keeping their Windows systems secure. Never, ever, concider registering ones, if you are a serious domainer!

Just a free word of advice.

Even if it would be ethically correct and okay to register domains that require spyware to work, the problem would be getting visitors. As spyware removal tools are becoming ever more commonplace and common users learn to know what spyware/malware is, many become alerted, demand adware free programs and use detection tools that will outright remove the New.Net plug-in.

The only way the New.Net plug-in has been spread is adware, as it was concidered an easy way to reach a large number of users. It first may have worked, but people have become at least a little bit more aware about the proble. And as non IE browsers become more widespread and spyware becomes a hatred, there's little base left for the New.Net plug-in.

A logical explanation why from a purely business interest it's a bad investment. Not to mention ethics.

To get a real resolving domain, add ".new.net" at the end of those domains. You are eally buying "yourname.agent.new.net" with the ability for ONLY those with the plugin or an ISP that recognizes them to hide the ".new.net" part.

Why can't browsers see these domains? When .in and .co.in came out, I didn't have to install a plugin to view the TLDS. Why then do these TLDS require a plugin?

Because they're NOT TLDs.
They're sub-sub-domains.

The market potential is extremely limited, due to the facts stated above. There are plenty of worthwhile domains still out there, available for registration. Stick with those, these new TLDs are an absolute joke.

.in is an approved domain by ICANN and IANA. New .net's pseudo TLD's aren't approved by any internet governing body.

These are absolutely useless domains. Get them in other extentions. There are still good domains out there. especially in .in. and .co.in

As explained above,
.agent, .arts, .auction, .chat, .church, .club, .family, .free, .game, .golf, .inc, .kids, .law, .llc, .llp, .love, .ltd, .med, .mp3, .school, .scifi, .shop, .soc, .sport, .tech, .travel, .video, .xxx
are sub-sub-domains. They are not TLDs.

A sub-sub-domain means that if you think you are buying โ€œvacation.travelโ€, caution, the real domain is โ€œvacation.travel.new.netโ€.

It is only under certain circumstances that typing vacation.travel rather than vacation.travel.new.net resolves, such as using a plug-in.

Based on my observation of posts to the board, I only note sales to individuals that are confused by registrar statements, which some consider mis-leading. We value them at zero cause our gut feel is they arenโ€™t even worth even reg fee.

Cause .in is an official ICANN (Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers) assigned TLD

Thanks. I think I understand now!

If those [fake]TLDs do ever become real TLDs will new.net have to stop providing them?

:)
