To avoid confusion, registries have forbidden the registration of country codes or gTLDs names; for instance com.xx, us.xx, fr.xx, it.xx...
However, for several country-level registries that regulation apply also to the new coming extensions.
That means that domains such as gold.xx, music.xx, radio.xx, games.xx, horse.xx, homes.xx ...etc. cannot be registered or backordered any more.
I faced this situation today, on a european country-level domain.
What are your thoughts on that? Does the regulation make sense to you, or it will weaker country-level domains for no reason?
