If you can, skin the forum to match your page layout.

I also feel like there should be something different with the footer. Even a different/smaller font could make the difference.

Yep, it does now. :) good to see.

Looks like a traditional CMS/WP setup. I'd welcome a few more design elements that tie your site to, lets say, the album covers. Try to incorporate the distinctive design that SOAD is using. Your nav on the right hand side, would benefit of a bit more presence, maybe increase the size of the buttons or give them a background color. The header itself looks good, unfortunately, the FavIcon is missing and to finish the visual eval, your forum is still the generic/default vB layout, i'm sure you're working on it, so let me just add "for the record": bring visual consistency throughout your site.

Other than that, not a bad start, maybe throw the latest video onto the frontpage and think about a video player that actually presents a playlist as well.

Once again, a great website review from you. :]

i'll get to work on the points you've stated in your post right away, and yeah i'm working on the forum design later today after i've finished the main website's visual properties.

A lot of suggestions have been put into place at soadtalk.com now.

If anyone else has anymore suggestions then they're very welcome to let me know. :]

Fill in the blank black space in your header. Add some color accents to it, or at least something so it isn't just Logo on the left, black space in the middle, and album covers on the right. Maybe some silver wavy accents similar to white you have in your logo.

Overall I think it is a great start, just need to add a couple of things to make it more unique. Good job.

Hey there -LB- I noticed the images on the top right are actually Large images that are being scaled. Thats something you might want to look into optimizing.
It would decrease load times/save bandwidth
