Although we had wished to have our auction site, kioio.com, live by late September, we had a few delays in the software implementation.

It's up and running now and we've tried to incorporate some of the suggestions the forum members were gracious enough to make.

A thumbnail of the features:

Auction of domain names of $500 or greater value only.
No fees upfront
Listing in multiple categories
All domain auctions in excess of $10,000 contain detail WHOIS history
Seller controlled auction start time, end time, and duration.
Auto-relist of unsuccessful auctions at no charge
RSS feeds
8% commission includes the services of escrow.com.
Dedicated Account Reps for Preferred Sellers
and more.

Here's the press release making the announcement: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2007/10/prweb559864.htm

I'm hopeful that the domaining community will embrace our site and that everyone can grow and prosper from using it. Thanks for all your input and support.

Nice concept, but where did "kioio" come from? Kind of an odd and hard to remember/pronounce name at this point. Is it an acronym for something or just a made up name? How is it pronounced?

Key-Oh-ee-Oh?
K-eye-Oh-eye-Oh?
Key-OH-eye-Oh?
K-eye-Oh-ee-Oh?
k-yo-yo?

the news release says it's a Colorado company, but the name sort of sounds Asian.

Thanks. I didn't think tdnam was memorable in the beginning, but I finally got used to it with use.

kioio is definitely not named like any other sales site for sure.

Good luck.

easier than tdnam for sure Mark.

As I mentioned elsewhere, we own auctionic.com and resalenic.com. But in the wake of the Swapnames debacle, it wasn't a battle we wanted to engage in.

I do not like much the new logo. It is cleaner for sure but rather ugly.

There is still a problem with counts, see for example 3-letters acronyms (count shows 1, actual count is 2).

Does not look like there were any sales yet. Are you advertising the site to buyers?
When searching for Closed Auctions, I can see auctions that are not open yet-- is that intentional? BTW auction listing in the future is a great feature.

Hi Jido:

Yes, auctions not yet open is intentional as sellers control auction start time and end time.

Yes, we are advertising to buyers; any suggestions are welcome.

If that is intentional why don't you provide a simpler way for buyers to list auctions that are programmed but not listed yet? A link to "Future auctions" would be welcome.

Jido:

I'm afraid I don't understand. Buyers don't list auctions, only sellers................ and the setting of a future auction for a seller is real easy.

The weather is turning a bit colder in CO; maybe my brain is freezing :hehe:

Santana....have a contest for a new logo at someplace like Sitepoint. For $100-$250 you can get a pretty good professional looking logo as well as promote the site.

I've purchased some logos very reasonably priced at $25 each at a site called gotlogos.com. I give them some idea of what I have in mind and a color scheme and have been happy with the results.

By "list" I mean "get a list of". Buyers can get a list of future auctions by doing a search for closed auctions in the Advanced Search page. If that is intentional, I believe there should be an easier way for buyers to get this list. Like a "Future Auctions" link. Is that clear?

I'd second that. Alot of very nice logos have come out from there through the contests area. On your site, looking nice so far. I look forward to using it in the near future.
