New Design, I want your thoughts

So, let's see what we've got here... Hmmm a site offering "event planning resources". Nice idea and with good potential if you insist and work on the site!!! :bah:

Now...
I don't like the front page that much-sorry :/
First of all the color... why purple? It reminds me of funerals!
Next, the wedding couple... Are you planning to offer this service for weddings only? This is what we mean by saying “event planning resources”? Why don’t you consider other events as well (like birthdays, anniversaries, other celebrations)...? Or change the existed slogan with something else, like “wedding resources” or something similar and more catchy.
Despite all the above, I like the interactive map because it adds a professional look to your front page.
But you also should consdider to "shorten" it a bit (your front page) because the logo and the navigation menu are really huge...
That’s all I can tell you for now, if you want pm me-I’ll be happy to help you if you want! It was a good thought to redesign your site, do it, because it looks a quite amateur work...

I am seeing a trend of people not being able to access the site. What time(s) is this happening? its supposed to be online 24hr a day

I think the color is ok. I would move the map and other interface options to the top of the page so you don't have to scroll. You might put a function to find dj within x miles of a zip code. I have the gpl code for the search and zipcode db if you need it.

It's a good layout, but way too much purple... it flattens all the distinctive effects of the design!

I like it... but maybe shrink the design so that your text links and map fit completely on the page without having to scroll down. Also, maybe your light blue menu and swoosh graphic could use a little purple color in them to make them fit with the background a little better. Just suggestions.

IMO: I think the text on the top should move to some where else and make the image aligned to the top with no spacing.
